Apple’s 2 tips to improve your iPhone’s battery life

An iPhone’s battery life can end up being something to worry about, hoping that your phone will make it through the day without a charge.

Thankfully, Apple has two official tips to maximize your phone’s battery life.

All it takes to make the most out of the battery life, or the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged, is adjusting two settings.

“There are two simple ways you can preserve battery life — no matter how you use your device: adjust your screen brightness and use Wi‑Fi,” the website says.

Either dimming the screen or turning on auto-brightness can extend the battery life.

To adjust the brightness, open the control center on your iPhone and drag the brightness slider down. To turn on auto-brightness, go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size, then turn on Auto-Brightness.

Auto-brightness will automatically adjust the screen based on lighting conditions.

Additionally, using Wi-Fi rather than cellular data requires less power, so keeping Wi-Fi on at all times will help maximize battery life, Apple advises.

Many people tend to go straight for Low Power Mode, which reduces display brightness, optimizes device performance and minimizes system animation, according to the site — but it also turns off some features that some find necessary.

When using Low Power Mode, apps like Mail won’t download content in the background, and features such as AirDrop, iCloud sync and Continuity will be disabled.
